CHILDREN’S & FAMILIES’ MINISTRIES

The mission of our children’s and families ministries is to create lasting faith in children and to equip and empower parents and guardians to effectively parent for faith. We do that by helping the whole family get to know God and giving them a foundation of knowledge to build their faith upon. We also provide opportunities for families to strengthen their bonds with each other and others in our community of faith.
FAMILY SUNDAY SCHOOL

Children and their grown-ups gather for a fun learning experience. Studies have shown that a child’s faith practice is directly related to the faith practices of their parents.  We could provide the most knowledgeable and creative teachers and your children could love every minute of Sunday school, but they are more influence by YOU than they are us.  So, we invite children and their grown-ups to engage in faith formation together to build a faith that endures.

Family Sunday School begins with families worshiping together at the 9am worship celebration in the Sanctuary. About half way through worship children are dismissed for an engaging lesson on their level. Following worship the grown-ups join the children in the Fellowship hall until 10:30 for a time of faith conversations and fellowship together.

When weather allows we play outside on the playground.

*We understand that not all families look the same, we use the term loosely. Grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends, whoever is bringing children to church, is who we want to join us.
FIRST FRIDAY FAMILY FUN NIGHT

The first Friday of each month, 5-7pm

Whether it’s classic board games, nostalgic card games or a group activity, there’s no shortage of fun at First Friday Family Fun Night. This is a chance for children and parents to team up, grandparents to showcase their skills, and everyone to enjoy quality time together.       First Friday Family Fun Night is an opportunity to strengthen family bonds and create lasting memories. Grandparents, parents, and children alike can find common ground and celebrate the unique contributions each generation brings to the family tapestry.

We do this ministry in partnership with St John Lutheran Church and we take turns hosting at our respective locations.

Dinner and dessert are served. To ensure we have enough food and activities for everyone, kindly RSVP by the Wednesday prior: MBWynne@LHUMC.org.

YOUTH GROUP

As teens navigate the hustle and bustle of their daily routines, it’s essential they take a moment to connect, share, and grow together.

Our Sunday evening youth gatherings are for youth in 7th -12th grades.

When: Sunday evenings Time: 6-8pm Where: LHUMC Youth Room or Fellowship Hall.

Our Sunday gatherings are designed with teens in mind – a space to foster close relationships, have some fun and games, delve into Bible devotions, and share in the power of prayer. Youth do not need to belong to any church to join us.
